Stephen Mooney is an accomplished innovator with deep northern roots and cultural understanding. Stephen has previously served as the Director for the Northern Housing Innovation Centre, Yukon Research Centre, Yukon University and previously as the Director of the Cold Climate Innovation hub at the Yukon Research Centre.
In these capacities, Stephen has worked to create economic development opportunities for all Yukoners through applied research, innovation, and commercialization, emphasizing food security, energy, and technology. Stephen has served on the National Research Council of Canada Board of Directors, and recently appointed to the Canadian National Panel to review the Disaster Financial Assistance Program.
Raised in the Yukon, Stephen Mooney has a passion for wilderness and a respect for the resilience of those residing in northern climates. “It gives me great satisfaction supporting Northerners to develop their ideas into innovative products that will help both Yukoners and northerners around the globe”.
