About Kluane First Nation

The Kluane First Nation (KFN) is a small First Nations band government in Yukon, Canada. Its main centre is in Burwash Landing, Yukon along the Alaska Highway on the shores of Kluane Lake, the territory’s largest lake. The native language spoken by the people of this First Nation is Southern Tutchone. They call themselves after the great Lake Lù’àn Män Ku Dän or Lù’àn Mun Ku Dän (″Kluane Lake People″).

The Kluane people occupy a traditional territory that extends from the St. Elias Mountains in the south, bounded to the east by the southern end of Kluane Lake and the A’ay Chu (formerly Slims River), by the Ruby Range to the north, extending almost to the Nisling River, and on the west by the Yukon Alaska Border. It includes the Tachal Region of Kluane National Park and Reserve.

Kluane First Nation is a Self-Governing First Nation with a Constitutionally protected Final Land Claims agreement and a Self-Government Agreement. These agreements were signed in October 2003 – the parties to the agreement are Government of Canada, Government of Yukon and the Kluane First Nation.

Kluane Dana Shaw

The Kluane Dana Shaw Corporation (KDSC) was created with the mandate to be the for- profit, wealth generating business arm for the Kluane First Nation (KFN). KDSC operates as an investment holdings company that generates wealth mostly in the form of business investments, and joint venture and limited partnerships. All investments must align with our financial strategies and core values, and produce gains with a minimum financial benchmark of 8%.

Expression of Interest Document Management System (DMS)

Kluane Dana Shaw Limited Partnership is seeking expressions of interest from qualified individuals to develop and implement a document management system (filing, tracking and management of documents).
The organization currently uses a combination of hard (file cabinets) and electronic files (dropbox). The hard copies files were recently updated.
A recent study review and examination of a variety of document management systems recommended that KDSLP use DropBox Business Advanced. We are seeking individual with experience in designing and organising filing system into DropBox Business.

Some of the actions that need to be undertaken are:
• Develop and implement naming conventions for document names.
• Assigning a tracking system to projects, resolutions, contract, agreements and other document that may need to be amended or reference from time to time.
• Determine which versions of documents should be filed.
• Once the file structure has been designed, files from DropBox should be reviewed and filed in appropriate folders, and duplicate files deleted.
• Paper documents currently not in electronic form (i.e. already in DropBox) to be scanned and filed appropriately.
• Implementation will require all PDF documents to be searchable
• Training for Board and staff on the new system

Please provide your notice of interest in the project, along with relevant experience and knowledge, to Kym Sheppard, Finance and Administration Manager: financemanager@kluanecorp.ca
A meeting will then be scheduled to assist with development of a quote.
